The book looks at the various characteristics of love shown by God and invites us to reflect on those characteristics and how the relate to how we live our lives. Each chapter is broken into daily readings, with personal application questions. The last reading of each chapter is ideal for group discussion, with questions designed for self-reflection and sharing. The book is also well-suited for individual guidance for daily study, prayer and contemplation.
I would not call this an in-depth study of this particular fruit of the Spirit (love). What I would call the book is a great starting point for self-assessment of our use of this wonderful spiritual gift. As Christians we are called to “love as He first loved us.” Once we have a basic understanding of how our Heavenly Father shows His love, we have a stepping-off point for demonstrating His love to a hurting world.
I recommend this for new (as well as mature) Christians looking to conform themselves more closely to the image of Christ.
Note: I was provided with a digital copy of this book by Booksneeze with the understanding that I would write a review. My review is entirely my own opinion, and was not required to be a positive one.
