Having read “90 Minutes in Heaven” and other accounts of near-death experiences, I had some idea what might be found in “Heaven is For Real”. There weren’t any real surprises in the book but I did find the account moving and compelling. That the Burpo family were facing are familiar to many of us…a cancer scare, a serious injury, a life-threatening illness, financial struggles. You’d be hard-pressed to find a family who hasn’t been affected by at least one of those crises. It is wonderful to read how God used a little boy to send a message of hope, not only to the Burpo family, but to the millions of people who would read or hear the story. This world is not “all there is”…and no matter what Heaven looks like we have hope that there will be joy and peace at the end of our Earth Journey.
