The High Calling: Everyday conversations about work, life, and God

Every Christian needs encouragement and guidance to navigate a world that is often blatantly hostile to Christian beliefs.  I recently checked out the “Weekly Calling” newsletter for a blog called “The High Calling”. The High Calling has a mission statement:

TheHighCalling.org seeks to create opportunities for Christian leaders to encounter God through new media tools for the transformation of daily life, work, and our world. Christian leaders are in all aspects and activities of daily life—including home, community, leisure, as well as occupation.

In THC’s weekly newsletter, Christians from different walks of life weigh in on issues they face. I happened to read the September 12th newsletter. What I came away with was what I had expected: a little ‘shot in the arm’ for my day. None of the articles were lengthy, but all were encouraging and easily related to. If you feel alone in your Christian walk the “Weekly Calling” might be just what you need to get through. The blog has longer articles and also offers a daily reflection, sent directly to your email box if you subscribe.

THC is connected with the Foundations for Laity Renewal, which offers retreats at Laity Lodge, a retreat center overlooking the Frio river in the Hill Country of Texas.
